RAGT Seeds home page
Parentage: 98ST08 x Aardvark

Key Benefits
  • One of the highest yielding milling wheats on the 2008/9 HGCA Recommended List
  • Suitable for early drilling - offering a wide drilling window
  • Top 2nd wheat - allows for a flexible rotation

Yield

Battalion is one of the highest yielding milling wheats with excellent agronomics.

Battalion also performs exceptionally well as a second wheat as well as having a high untreated yield (equivalent to those of the highest yielding feed wheats).

Battalion performs exceptionally well in the early drill slot due to its slow speed of development and good agronomics.

Battalion has similar maturity to Claire and will perform well when sown from early September to late October. The latest safe drilling date is the end of January.

Agronomy

Battalion has excellent straw strength, reflected in its high untreated yield.

Battalion has an improved resistance profile over existing milling wheats – particularly yellow and brown rust and eyespot from the Pch1gene.
